How to enrol in our school

Every child has the right to access quality public education in their local community. If you live in our local intake area, start your journey to join our vibrant school community today. Follow these key steps:

1. Check your eligibility:  use School Finder to confirm if your address is within our local intake area.
2. Read:  other enrolment details for our school.
3. Apply online:  complete our online enrolment application.

How to apply for entry into our High Potential and Gifted Education programs

Our school has an Academic Selective Class and a Talented Technology Program.

• Academic Selective Class: Our Academic Selective Classes provide high potential students the opportunity to extend and accelerate their learning. Our program provides an Academic Selected Class in years 7 and 8 and a selective stream in years 9 and 10 that cater specifically for the needs of our high potential and gifted students. It also provides the opportunity to accelerate into Stage 6 Mathematics Advanced and English Advanced in year 10.
• Talented Technology Program: is aimed at students with a passion in technology who are looking to further develop their skills. Our Talented Technology Program allows our year 7 and 8 students to develop their individual talents and interests in technology through a girls and boys stream, as well as the opportunity to accelerate into Stage 6 Technology in years 9 and 10.

Inclusion into into our Academic Selective Class and our Talented Technology Program in year 7 is based on an application and a portfolio of student accomplishments.

Steps:

1. Come along to our HPGE Program Information Session to learn more about the programs we offer.
2. To apply for either or both of the two programs download and complete the High Potential and Gifted Education Expression of Interest Form (link)
3. If you are out of the Gymea Technology High School intake area, also complete the Out of Area Application Form (link).
4. Submit the applications with accompanying portfolio.

Late applications

If you have missed the due date, the school may consider late applications depending on vacancies in the programs. If you wish to make a late application, please contact our Enrolment Officer on 9521 3244.

School contributions

In NSW public schools, all financial contributions are voluntary. Every student has full access to the curriculum, regardless of whether contributions are made.
