2024 Swimming Carnival

Swimming

Key Points

  • Our School Swimming Carnival will be held at Caringbah Leisure Centre, Jacaranda Road, Caringbah on Thursday 22 February 2024.
  • The swimming carnival is a whole school event. It will be a normal school day with the expectation that all students in years 7-12 will attend.

Exciting Start to the Year

As we kick off the new school year, we are looking forward to hosting our first whole school event, the 2024 Swimming Carnival. This exciting event is not just an integral part of our sports program, but also promises a day filled with camraderie, competition and fun.

Whole school events such as our swimming carnival are wonderful opportunities for our school community to come together, enjoy a range of safe,  inclusive activities, foster school spirit and connect with each other in positive ways.

From structured swimming events to playful novelties, the agenda of the day is focused on participation and enjoyment for all. Every student, regardless of skill level, has the chance to participate and enjoy time with their friends.

Supervised Swim Test

Participation in our carnival events opens doors for your child to represent the school at zone and regional carnivals. Additionally, a supervised swim test will be conducted for students. This is a mandatory requirement for all students who participate in water-based activities at school camps and excursions. The swim test will take place prior to the commencement of the carnival events.

Travel

Students have the option to make their own way to and from the pool, or, alternatively, we have organised buses to transport students to and from Caringbah. The buses will depart school at 8:00 am and will return at approximately 2:30 pm.

Cost

Payments can be made online or at the front office.

Option A: cost for pool entry only is $9.00.

Option B: cost for pool entry and travel by bus (to and from Caringbah Leisure Centre) is $16.00.

Sun Safety and Attire

Students are advised to bring adequate sun protection (ie, clothing, sunscreen and hats), as there is limited shade available. Dress for the day is school sports uniform.
