NAPLAN 2024

NAPLAN BANNER

Key points

  • NAPLAN testing will be held for all of our Year 7 and Year 9 students from Wednesday 13 March to Monday 18 March.
  • Practice online tests in numeracy and reading are available on Moodle for students to prepare.

NAPLAN is a National annual assessment for all students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 that progressively tests students’ reading, writing, spelling, grammar and punctuation, and numeracy skills. NAPLAN assessments provide students, parents and teachers with feedback on these skills successfully demonstrated by students and what they are still yet to achieve.

This year the NAPLAN assessments will be completed online and run through our Technology Centre using a special browser. NAPLAN testing will be held for all of our Year 7 and Year 9 students from Wednesday 13 March to Monday 18 March.

Practice online tests in numeracy and reading have been provided weekly through English, Maths or Skillup lessons during the term. There are also Practice Assessments available through Moodle for students via the links below or navigated from their Year group Google classrooms.

What equipment is needed for NAPLAN?

All testing will be completed using our Technology Centre computers  at school. Headphones are required for the testing and will be made available for students.  If your child prefers to use their own headphones they are welcome to bring their own from home.

In the Numeracy tests where students are allowed to use a calculator or measuring tools, this provided on the screen. Students do not need to bring a calculator or any other measuring tools such as rulers or protractors with them.

What if my child is away?

If your child is unwell and cannot attend school for the tests, please contact the school and indicate when your child will return to school.

Does my child have to sit the tests?

Students may be withdrawn from NAPLAN by their parent or carer. This is a matter for consideration by parents in consultation with the Principal. If you wish to withdraw your child from the tests, a parent or carer consent form must be signed.

Your support

Please help your child in preparing for these tests by reviewing their booklets and discussing their preparation for the tests. A good night’s sleep and prompt arrival at school will help your child perform at their best.

Thank you for your ongoing support. We wish your child the very best in the upcoming NAPLAN tests.
